No! In fact, it is not really possible to understand it fully until you have experienced it first hand. Because we are working in the quantum field, this can be quite tricky to explain. This is the type of work that more often than not speaks to us on a level beyond the mind. It might feel familiar even though you cannot place why, or you might hear someone referring to it and the name seems to jump out at you. Or you hear it mentioned multiple times in a row during completely unconnected conversations (all of these are examples that people report to me on a regular basis!)
If something interesting like this happens, or you just feel curious about it, feel free to reach out and set up a brief conversation so I can give you an idea of what to expect and answer any of your questions.
Another great place to start is to watch Another Self or check out episode 5 "Thank the Past" on the series Sex, Love & Goop (both on Netflix) .
There are a variety of ways a Constellation can take place. It can be done remotely in a group, in a one-on-one setting, or in an in-person group workshop or workshop series. If you are brand new to SFC, feel free to sign up for a workshop, or reach out to chat about what would work best for you.
There is no one final answer to this question. While it is often a good practice to allow space between constellations, there is no rule against doing several in a short span of time. The same wisdom applies with any form of therapy: it is important to integrate any intentional healing work that we do and to be sure that in our quest for healing/relief, we are not unconsciously distracting ourselves, or running away from simply sitting with what we might need to see or feel.
My greatest advice on this is to trust yourself- you know what the right timing is for you.
Yes, you can miss a week. Although not ideal, it is okay to miss a week if your schedule prohibits you from attending all 4 weeks.
All you need to know is what you would like to see shift in your life. This could be in the form of repeated patterns, body issues, relationship issues, blocks, and the list goes on. The rest will reveal itself. Anything can be constellated.
While all forms of therapy are of great value and important pieces of the journey, family constellations is unique in that it works on a systemic level. Although you are working from the perspective of yourself, your life, and your experience, we are working within the quantum field of an entire family system. We are systemic beings. We are not islands standing alone. Addressing an entire system at once can have profound ripple affects.
I began working with family constellations 5 years ago. With absolutely no cognitive understanding of SFC, I joined a 6 week series facilitated by Tammy Roth, PhD in 2019. It just so happened that I had little to no introduction to the process, yet I was immediately devoted to it after just a few hours of experiencing it. After attending multiple workshops hosted by Tammy that year, I continued on with one full year of monthly immersion with Tammy and then completed her two year professional training program in 2022. I am deeply grateful for the multiple levels of blessing this modality has brought into my life and the lives of those around me.
