No! In fact, it is not really possible to understand it fully until you have experienced it first hand. Because we are working in the quantum field, this can be quite tricky to explain. This is the type of work that more often than not speaks to us on a level beyond the mind. It might feel familiar even though you cannot place why, or you might hear someone referring to it and the name seems to jump out at you. Or you hear it mentioned multiple times in a row during completely unconnected conversations (all of these are examples that people report to me on a regular basis!)
If something interesting like this happens, or you just feel curious about it, feel free to reach out and set up a brief conversation so I can give you an idea of what to expect and answer any of your questions.
Another great place to start is to watch the Netflix series Another Self (Turkish) or check out episode #5 on the Netflix series Sex, Love & Goop , tilted "Thank the Past." The Turkish series is a scripted drama that includes the systemic constellation process as part of the show's story-line. It quite beautifully illustrates how human-beings pass down family trauma, and how the healing process unfolds in the constellation approach, while the Goop episode shows an actual real-life constellation.
There are a variety of ways a Constellation can take place. It can be done remotely in a group, in a one-on-one setting, or in an in-person group workshop or workshop series. If you are brand new to SFC, feel free to sign up for a workshop, or reach out to chat about what would work best for you.
There is no one-size- fits-all answer to this question. It all depends upon your personal circumstances. There are times when it might be ideal to give space, and other times when a series of constellations are fitting for your process.
All you need to know is what you would like to see shift in your life. This could be in the form of repeated patterns, body issues, relationship issues, blocks, and the list goes on. The rest will reveal itself. Anything can be constellated. Once we have a conversation, the path will unfold.
While all forms of therapy are of great value and important pieces of the journey, family constellations is unique in that it works on a systemic level. Although you are working from the perspective of yourself, your life, and your experience, we are working within the quantum field of an entire family system. We are systemic beings. We are not islands standing alone. Addressing an entire system at once can have profound ripple affects.
